My Second Grade students will be performing a reader's theater of two plays about Dr. Seuss on March 2nd. The plays are "Green Eggs and Ham" and "Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss."  The students will perform their plays for their classes.  Reader's theater helps students increase their fluency reading and they always enjoy performing and acting out their parts in the play.

About Me

Hello! My name is Mrs. Baldner. I have been teaching for 20 years. I have been a substitute teacher, reading tutor, lst grade teacher, an art teacher, and a reading teacher. I have a master's degree in reading. I provide reading instruction for students in kindergarten, first grade, and second grade at Hillsdale Elementary at Hayesville, Ohio. I have been married to Carl for 37 years. We have three children. Jayson and his wife, Casey live in Seattle, Washington. Jayson is a carpenter and Casey is a preschool teacher. They are expecting their first child and our first grandchild in April. Mariah is a ESL kindergarten teacher in Atlanta, Georgia. Carinna is an elementary teacher who is currently teaching in Taiwan. She teaches English to 1st and 3rd grade students. I like to make jewelry, sew, read, take photos, garden, and laugh. I enjoy opening up the world of reading to my students by showing them different strategies to develop their reading skills. It is my desire to pass that love of reading onto my students.
